April Mory's Gathering

Please join us again at our monthly social gathering at Louis’ Lounge at Mory’s on Wednesday, April 9, from 5:30-7:30 PM.

Over drinks (first drink on us!) and appetizers (also on us!), we will chat with our Special Guest, Betsy Golden Kellem, BA ’01, JD ’05 (UConn) a lawyer, historian, and scholar of the unusual. Her writing on circus and entertainment history has appeared in venues including The Atlantic, Vanity Fair, The Washington Post, The Public Domain Review, Smithsonian, Atlas Obscura, and Slate. She has served on the boards of the Barnum Museum and the Circus Historical Society and is an Emmy winner for her Showman’s Shorts video series on P. T. Barnum. She is a columnist for JSTOR Daily and regularly teaches and speaks for academia and industry. If you ask nicely, she will juggle knives for you.

Her upcoming book, Jumping Through Hoops, is the fascinating story of how nineteenth-century circus women performed impossible feats and changed American culture.

Please register for free on EventBrite by April 7 so we can provide Mory’s with numbers.
